Summer Butterflies.......

Something a little different this week. In this weeks workshop we made the following two cards using the delightful clear stamp from Woodware  and Distress Inks to create the backgrounds.

The first card is a A5 Gatefold. the background was created by firstly stamping the butterfly randomly onto a piece of white cardstock using Perfect Medium and heat embossing with clear embossing powder. These stamped areas will act as a resist when you apply the ink. Apply some random colours of distress ink onto a craft mat , spritz with water and then place the stamped card face down into the ink, remove and leave to dry or dry with a heat gun.Cut up the background into 2 strips 6 1/2 x 20 1/2 cm keeping the remaining strip.Glue these to the front of the card.Take another strip of white cardstock 3 1/2 x 20 1/2 cm ink the edges with distress ink , layer with the leftover thin strip and glue down the centre of one of the panels on the card.
The butterflies have been stamped onto cardstock which has been inked as above but without the resist.

We used Fired Brick and Spiced Marmalade Distress InksThe second card is a slim card. You can make two out of an A4 piece of card stock. The background was made in the same way as the above card but we used Peacock Feathers, Mustard Seed and Worn Lipstick Distress Inks .The butterfly was stamped twice and the top layer is smaller as we cut away the top part of the wings

We hope you like the creations this week

Another workshop this week using the Gilding Polishes .

This card is ideal for Men ,but created in different colours will be great for Ladies too.
We coloured the white cardstock with Mediterranean Blue Gilding Polish and then layered four white die-cuts across the middle.Using the same die we cut two in black, these were then cut down the middle and glued top and bottom overlapping to create the pattern.
A piece of white cardstock was coloured again with the Mediterranean Blue Gilding Polish and then stamped using the Woodware stamp - Birthday Cheer and heat embossed .

This delightful card has a decoupage topper of a lovely Kitten in a Flower Pot.The background was created again using the Gilding Polish - Purple Mist and then we embossed the cardstock with a Daisy embossing folder. The white die-cut has been cut using the Sue Wilson die - Belgian Antwerp, the decoupage base layer has also been die -cut using the same die and then the rest has been layered using foam pads/ silicone glue

Framed Tulips......

We used the lovely gilding polishes from Creative Expressions in the Workshop this week.

The gilding polishes have been used in different ways - we covered the cardstock and then embossed the card using the de-embossed side.

We also used the Gilding Polishes as paints. If you take a small amount of the Gilding Polish on a palette and mix with water you can then paint with it.
Here we have little applied Gilding Polish on the embossed side of the cardstock highlighting the raised areas
The stamp used is Framed Tulips from Woodware ( W-JGS325)
